Emily is The Year Out Manager. She runs our gap year programme, The Year Out. Emily loves seeing the difference in volunteers from the start of their year with us to the very end and watching them realise who God has called them to be. Outside of work she enjoys spending time with friends and family, going to the cinema and eating Nandos!
I run Youth for Christ’s gap year programme, The Year Out. I grew up in a town called Ipswich and moved to Birmingham about 4 years ago. I became a Christian at the age of 12 at a Christian festival called Spring Harvest and it’s been the best decision I have ever made. It has made my life take a whole different path and God has given me more opportunities than I could have ever imagined. In Birmingham, I love spending time with friends and family, going to the cinema and eating Nandos! I’m passionate about journeying with young adults and seeing them grow closer in their walk with God, as well as enabling them to take the gospel to thousands of young people. I love seeing the difference in them from the start of their year with us to the very end and watching them realise who God has called them to be. It is a real privilege to meet so many people and hear their stories. As a Youth for Christ staff worker, I am required to raise a minimum of 50% of my salary costs through the donations of those around me. The reason we do this is that personal support builds on partnerships in ministry which will help us prayerfully move forward. The more support we raise, the more funds are released to the support the further work of Youth for Christ. By joining me in this we can reach so many more young people in this nation and I believe when we partner together we can achieve so much more. If you would like to support me, I would be so grateful and I am also able to send you my newsletter. With your help we can take ‘the Good News relevantly to every young person in Britain.’
