• HomeGrown is a stream within The Year Out programme where a young adult is based in their local church and community.

    Are you a…?

If you’re thinking you’d like to take a gap year but want to stay plugged into your local community and serve in your local context, then HomeGrown is the option for you. Stay living in your local area and just join us for all training, events and retreats. You also get to enjoy being part of a community as you meet other young adults on the course who have the same passion as you. Working alongside your home church as your placement, you will gain experience in youth ministry while building relationships and learning to serve.

HomeGrown allows you to save money on food and accommodation if staying at home and, subject to agreement with your church/placement, you could also finish your studies or hold down a part-time job, helping cover the cost of your year out whilst also saving for your next steps. In addition, the HomeGrown option allows you to plug into our Worship or Evangelism streams for extra training in these areas.

This stream requires a financial contribution from your home/placement church.

HomeGrown is a stream within our Year Out that we believe can serve your church! Do you have a young adult within your church or local community between the ages of 17-25? HomeGrown allows a young adult to take a year out while serving your home church and community.

We know that for youth and church leaders, demands are high and time to invest can be a challenge. Why not let us train and equip your young adults, releasing you to journey with them whilst developing excellent face to face youth work and leadership skills.

As a National Youth Ministry Organisation, we have 20 years experience in training young adults and want to serve you with the knowledge we have through partnership. We have an uncompromising heart for evangelism and want to teach young adults to share their story and bring the gospel to life.  We have expert and professional teaching around leadership, deepening biblical knowledge, apologetics, mental health, nationally recognised GenZ research and many other relevant areas.
