I grew up in a Christian home and have always had an awareness of who God is and what he’s been up to but only really took on my faith for myself when I was a teenager when some amazing people in our church started a youth group, without that group I wouldn’t be who I am today. I love what I do because I’m deeply passionate about the church connecting with young people, introducing them to Jesus and then being able to journey with them as a wider church family so that they might be able to confidently tell their friends about Jesus. I love working with a brilliant group of people to see Jesus transform the lives of young people, and churches, in the Britain. I’m really passionate about young people meeting Jesus and helping the Church engage with young people and move them forwards in their journey of faith! Before working here at Youth for Christ I spent time as a youth pastor in London and also worked as an outreach worker, working with local schools, youth clubs and vulnerable young people. My husband is a youth pastor in our local church and I spend a lot of my free time volunteering with the young people there. In my spare time I volunteer with our youth group, hang out with my husband and my dog, watch box sets, run, read, sew and sometimes try to knit, with varying degrees of success!
As a Youth for Christ staff worker I am required to raise a minimum of 50% of my salary costs through donations from church, friends and family. The reason we do this is that personal support creates a partnership in ministry between the supporter and the staff member. The more support staff raise, the more funds are released to be used to support the work of Youth for Christ. Youth for Christ is about people and by partnering with me you will enable more young people to be reached across the nation. Together we can achieve more.
