Today Youth for Christ can announce that one of the UK’s leading children’s ministries, BIG Ministries, have joined YFC. The BIG Ministries team are set to become YFC’s new national children’s team – providing engaging, relevant resources and events for under 11s and training for children’s workers.

Over the past ten years BIG Ministries has been busy writing resources and running events, but were at capacity with their reach and growth potential and wanted to be able to do more to reach children. To make this possible they needed to become part of something already established and bigger.

Working with over 250,000 young people every month and drawing alongside teens from every background and culture in Britain, Youth for Christ was the perfect choice. The leadership and trustees of BIG Ministries started talks with Youth for Christ and after a lot of prayerful consideration both organisations felt it was the right move for BIG Ministries to become YFC’s new children’s team. BIG Ministries founder Jo Squires will now be based in the national YFC office in Halesowen, Birmingham.

Phil Knox, Director of YFC’s Church Resources Department says, “This move is reflective of the exciting growth we are seeing in the area of church resources and the increasingly holistic nature of our work. Having looked at engaging post 18s in a culture of extended adolescence in recent years, I can’t wait to work with Jo to reach under 11s in the UK.”

YFC National Director, Gavin Calver, adds, “BIG Ministries is the most dynamic, creative and relevant children’s work that I’ve ever seen. I am thrilled that they have joined Youth for Christ and am looking forward to all that God is going to do through such gifted and talented people.”
