Here are some questions to get you thinking about what it means to serve others:
Can you think of a person in your life who helps others a lot? Who serves others?
What qualities would you say someone who serves has?
Do you try and help people as much as you can?
Are you someone who thinks of others a lot or do you rather think of yourself first?
Who can you serve today or this week?
PRAY:
Here is a prayer activity to get you praying on a theme of ‘Serving’:
Set a timer to 1 minute.
Silently think about all of the people that you will connect with today.
Choose one of these people.
Think of something that you could do, lasting no longer than 1 minute, to make a positive difference to their day and to be more like Jesus.
Say a prayer for that person at the end.
Repeat this prayer activity every morning and see how many people you can serve this week.
DO:
Here is activity that you can do to help you engage with this week’s theme of ‘Serving’:
Take a couple of minutes to write down 5 characteristics of a ‘good servant’.
Next to each characteristic, write something that you will do in the next week to reflect that characteristic (e.g. Selfless – Help my younger sibling to do their homework).
Practise being a good servant this week.
