Re read Acts 8:26-31.
How easy do you find it telling your friends about Jesus? When has it gone well and when has it gone badly?
What are some of the biggest struggles you have when it comes to sharing your faith with your friends?
In Acts 8:26 we see that Philip is spending time with God and his instruction to share Jesus comes from there. Honestly, how often do you spend time praying for your friends who don’t know Jesus? What motivates you and what do you find hard?
In verse 29 we then see Philip pulling alongside the eunuch as he travels. How easy do you find it to do life alongside your friendship group and also following Jesus and your life pointing to Him? Do they know that you go to church and how does sharing Jesus with them feel?
What is one practical tip that you would give on how to talk to your friends about Jesus?
PRAY:
Spend a few moments sat in silence. Find somewhere comfy and ask God to clear your mind. Once you feel settled and still, ask God to bring a few of your friends to mind who don’t know Jesus yet but might need prayer.
Once you feel that you have those people in mind, take a few moments to drop them a message. You might want to do this via Whatsapp or over social media but why not spend a few minutes explaining that you are a Christain and that you are taking a few minutes out to pray today. Ask if there’s anything that they would like prayer for at the moment and see what they reply.
If and when your friend messages back, don’t forget to reply and say thank you but also, very importantly, don’t forget to actually pray for them! Then, in a few days, why not follow up and ask if the situation has changed and improved? If you did this a few times over, why not get super brave and you could even offer to pray for them in person if you feel like that would be appropriate. It might even be that you could invite them to your youth group online!
DO:
In this season where so much is happening online, it’s actually a great opportunity to invite your friends to watch some spiritual content without them having to feel nervous about coming into a church building or physically going into a group where they don’t know anyone. Why not make the most of the opportunity!
Write a list of your 5 or 6 closest friends who don’t know Jesus.
Spend some time having a look online for some links to some really good content about Jesus. It might be that your church have started streaming online, or you know of a church that’s doing that really well, or maybe find some content on YouTube. If you’re struggling, check out Intro Outro on YouTube and maybe find one of the videos there that talks about God and spirituality.
Spend a few minutes praying and then why not write messages to each of those friends individually sending them one of those links? You might even want to invite them to check out a church’s online service on a Sunday morning. You could simply write ‘I found this link online today, I’m a Christian and have been watching it but would love you to take a look and tell me what you think’. Or just write whatever you think will sound best for your friends!
Make sure you spend some time praying as you send the links over as God can be with them whilst they watch, even if you can’t!
