• Prayer at Youth for Christ

Prayer is woven into all that we do at Youth for Christ.
We pray over every aspect of our ministry for we know that it is only by God’s Spirit that we can do anything lasting into eternity. We are always on the lookout for those who will help us in this ministry of reconciliation between God and young people by praying for and with us.

    Pray with us

Jesus tells us in Matthew 19:26 that ‘with God nothing is impossible’. Because of this, we confidently pray that our awesome God will build His Kingdom. As Christians, we know that we can do nothing apart from Jesus. Only in Him do we bear much fruit (John 15:5). At Youth for Christ, we take this seriously and work hard to keep prayer at the forefront of who we are and what we do.

Our heart is to see young people’s lives changed by Jesus. We won’t know the full effect of our prayers for a generation of young people this side of eternity but because of our ministry, we see many come to know Him. We then have the privilege of playing an active part in helping to shape and disciple them. We fully trust that God is at work through our prayers and the prayers of those who stand with us to see young people reached with the gospel.

When the people of God pray together in unity, there is a real blessing (Matt 18:20). So, we are always eager for people to join this ministry in prayer. Is God calling you to pray for young people and youth ministry in the UK?

Pray with us for our local centres

Pray for engagement and a positive response to Jesus, for the logistics and for the team.

    Kenilworth

Update: Praise God for our Why I Believe events. Dr Sharon Dirckx spoke to around 360 students across two schools on “Am I just my brain?” and to 60+ people at our evening event on “God, evil and suffering.” At both, many stayed behind to ask further questions. These events clearly spark deep reflection in young people as they explore identity and purpose. One parent even came to our evening event with big questions and left with two books to keep seeking answers.

    Kingsbridge

Running a youth club that has recently reached 30 unchurched young people after prayer for numbers. Young people are hearing about Jesus each week, but behaviour can be challenging. These young people are being invited to an evangelistic event in June with a Christian rap artist.

    Llandudno

Update: Give thanks that the centre have recently reconnected with people they worked with 10-15 years ago who now as adults are following Jesus!

Llandudno have a new chair of trustees, please pray for him in his role. They are also about to hire a part time youth worker, please pray that God brings the right person.  God’s call is upon them to do more schools work and are in the process of creating a mobile youth pod – a horsebox kitted out with youth activities and resources. This means they will be doing less youth clubs but are offering local churches the use their state-of-the-art youth hub building to run youth groups throughout the week for free. Pray that the churches will take up this offer.

    North Breckland

Relationships with young people to grow through their schools’ outreach and weekly youth clubs. The recruitment of a new staff member. Encounter summer camp in July where young people have the opportunity to hear the gospel and meet Jesus.

We’ve heard countless stories from local youth leaders about growing confidence in their young people, renewed hope, deeper faith, and genuine transformation in young people’s lives.

    Phase Trust

The young people they engage with are at risk of or involved in exploitation. They can also present challenging behaviour. Phase Trust connects the young people to a local church with strong youth provision and opportunities to hear about Jesus, such as Youth Alpha series.

    Swadlincote

Have potential opportunity to run a youth café using a local building which would be a new partnership with a local church and an ideal place. Pray for finance for this to be possible. Have also recently given out Bibles to weekly youth club.
