Whilst our adventurous colleagues are climbing to the rooftop of Africa, those of us staying back in the UK were not content to sit idly by and watch them sweat.
So, a second team of intrepid travellers climbed the most challenging mountains here on our very own home island.
As a team we will started this adventure with the national 3 Peaks challenge – climbing up and down Mount Snowdon, Skafell Pike and Ben Nevis within 24 hours. That is the highest peak in each of Wales, England & Scotland within one whole day. From there, whilst some of the group deservedly headed home to recover, the ones who didn’t realise there was an option to do so, headed on to take on Carn Eige & Sgurr Alasdair – 2nd & 3rdhighest peaks in Britain, and wrapping it up with ascents up Helvellyn and Skiddaw – the 2nd & 3rd highest peaks in England.
A challenge we are called The Seven Deadlies.
As we consider the mountains that young people have to face in their lives, we overcame these literal mountains in the hope that you will help us reach our targets to be able to support the great ministry of Youth for Christ.
